The Robert Sylvain Party is a continuation of a tradition of classic Cajun material as brought to Old Acadia by Sylvain's distant Cajun cousin, fiddler Matthew Doucet, who returned to his native Louisiana two years after starting the band Douce with Sylvain in 2004.
Flanked by Portland music scene veteran Haakon "The Hawk" Kallweit on fiddle, Sylvain keeps the Cajun flame alive, along with Louisiana native Chad Huval on buttonbox accordian. Add drums and upright bass, and you have unstoppable foot-stomping Cajun dance music.
